Language in Africa
- Afroasiatic is spread throughout the Middle East, North Africa, the Horn of Africa, and parts of the Sahel
- Nilo-Saharan is centered on Sudan and Chad (disputed validity)
- Niger–Congo (Bantu and non-Bantu) covers West, Central, Southeast and Southern Africa
- Khoe is concentrated in the deserts of Namibia and Botswana
- Austronesian is spoken in Madagascar.
- Indo-European is spoken on the southern tip of the continent, as well as in the Spanish cities of Ceuta and Melilla in the north.
Religion in Africa
is multifaceted and has been a major influence on art, culture and philosophy. Today, the continent's various populations and individuals are mostly adherents of Christianity, Islam, and to a lesser extent Traditional African religion. In Christian or Islamic communities, religious beliefs are also sometimes characterized with syncretismwith the beliefs and practices of traditional religions.
